Providing broadcast coverage to counties or areas that need them most can be a highly challenging and sometimes hazardous exercise. From the initial site identification/survey, predicting coverage, supply, logistics of delivering equipment, installation, providing services such as power, programme delivery and ongoing maintenance there can be many problems which can seem insurmountable.
DBS Consulting has considerable experience and expertise in providing broadcast stations into many different environments. Anything from small solar powered satellite relay transmitters to high-power broadcast stations with generator derived power supplies, we can provide all of the services required.
We can provide analogue/digital terrestrial and satellite programme delivery systems. Audio only systems are available which use a minimum of satellite bandwidth to multichannel television systems using DVB-S/S2 standards. We are independent of any supplier/manufacturer and can offer the most appropriate solution for any situation.
Transmission solutions are possible in analogue and digital formats for both radio and television. For television, analogue and digital DVB-T/T2 are all available.
Recent projects have included the design and installation of FM transmitters in the cities throughout Africa and Asia, including some satellite audio distribution systems. A complete radio network including satellite programme distribution has been supplied and set up in Iraq, including full training. These systems were built into prefabricated buildings which included generators, air conditioning and a 15m roof mounted tower. Survey, supply and installation work has been undertaken in various countries throughout the world. In Asia digital TV, FM and MW transmitters have been installed in a capital city and other locations for various customers including the BBC World Service and commercial operators, with further site surveys undertaken in many other areas of these countries. Audio and multichannel television DVB-S/S2 uplink systems have also been supplied and installed.
